Platinum Contributors’ Presentation - IGT

Vincent Sadusky, Chief Executive Officer, International Game Technology PLC
Vincent Sadusky is Chief Executive Officer of International Game Technology PLC (IGT) and serves on its Board of Directors. He is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction of the Company, which is publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: IGT). He works directly with the board and other senior management to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans and policies. Prior to taking on his current role at IGT in January, 2022, he served from 2018 to 2020 as CEO and board member of Univision Communications, the largest Hispanic media company in the US, operating multiple broadcast and cable networks, local TV and radio stations, digital video and audio streaming. Prior to Univision, he was CEO and board member from 2014 to 2017 of Media General, a local TV station and digital media company with more than 50 TV stations and 5,000 employees. From 2006 to 2014, he was CEO and board member of LIN Media, a local TV station broadcaster and digital media company. He also served as CFO of LIN Media from 2004 to 2006. He was also CFO of Telemundo Communications from 1999 to 2004.

In addition to serving on the IGT Board of Directors since 2010 and most recently chairing its audit committee, Sadusky has served on the boards of the Paley Center for Media, the National Association of Broadcasters and was the treasurer for the NBC Affiliates Board. A longtime Florida resident, he also serves on the board of The Florida Council of 100, an organization of business leaders dedicated to promoting Florida’s economic growth and improving the quality of life of its citizens. Earlier in his career, he worked at Ernst & Young, and co-founded JVB Financial Group and Zeus Financial, fixed-income securities trading firms.

Sadusky graduated with honors with a BS in Accounting from Penn State University and holds an MBA from the New York Institute of Technology.

Platinum Contributors’ Presentation - Scientific Games

Sam Wakasugi, Vice President of Global Strategy, Scientific Games
Sam is an accomplished industry veteran with more than 40 years of experience establishing and developing profitable operations for lotteries worldwide. As Vice President of Global Strategy for Scientific Games, he supports the company’s worldwide strategy for new business opportunities and exploration of new and under-maximized lottery markets. With broad experience in lottery sales, marketing and operational leadership – and a well-known gold standard for customer service excellence – Sam worked for the first 15 years of his career on the government side of the business for Washington’s Lottery and as director of the and Arizona Lottery. Joining Scientific Games in 1996, Sam played a major role helping launch and develop a number of U.S. and international lotteries, including the China Sports Lottery, one of the largest and most successful instant game lottery startups in history. As Chief Marketing Officer, Sam led the lottery’s startup in 31 China provinces, training more than 200,000 retailers and 20,000 employees, and ultimately setting industry sales records. In the span of his career, he’s had the unique opportunity to learn from some of the greatest in the industry. His knowledge across all aspects of the business has impacted the success of many lotteries in Scientific Games’ network of global customers. Based in Atlanta, Sam joins us at the World Lottery Summit in Vancouver to talk about, appropriately, “Leading the Journey and Inspiring the Future”.

Jennifer Westbury, Executive Vice President, Sales & Customer Development, Pollard Banknote
Jennifer has been at the forefront of Pollard Banknote’s exceptional growth as a partner to lotteries and has played an instrumental role in guiding the organization’s vision for lottery success. Whether developing strategies to attract new players, expanding retail channels or helping lotteries broaden their digital capabilities, Jennifer’s drive to develop innovative approaches to cultivate lottery sales and revenues has contributed to the success of customers across the globe. Her approach to working with Lotteries focuses on delivering a customized approach that is relevant from a regulatory, market and cultural perspective.

Platinum Contributors’ Session

The WLA Platinum Contributors’ session has become a tradition at WLA conventions. The central session will be a discussion panel, featuring selected top-level executives from the WLA Platinum Contributors – IGT, Scientific Games Corporation, and the Pollard Banknote. The panelists will answer questions on some of the major issues confronting our industry today. The panel session will take place on Tuesday, October 18, from 11:30 until 12:15.

As well, each Platinum Contributor will have a designated speaker give a short presentation. The individual 15-minute presentations will take place at regular intervals within the plenary sessions running across the three days. Given the crucial role played by the service providers in supporting the lottery industry, and the wealth of opportunities they offer our member lotteries, the views from the WLA Platinum Contributors are sure to provide for an entertaining and insightful session.

Lotteries Summit and Pep Talk

Culminating the WLS 2022 business program will be the traditional Lotteries Summit and Pep Talk. A panel comprising a selection of lottery directors from around the world will revisit many of the themes covered in the WLS 2022 business program, discussing them in depth from the perspective of the lottery operator. Recapping such topics as innovation, gamification, and the impact that technology has had on our industry, the Lotteries Summit and Pep Talk promises to be a lively, stimulating, and collegial exchange of thoughts, perspectives, and opinions on the future of the lottery industry.
