Tips from Our Team:
Where is the best place to eat in downtown Vancouver?
Vancouver is known for many things, but its reputation as a foodie paradise is one that cannot be contested. Whether you’re craving a gourmet dining experience or a platter of fresh sushi, there’s something for everyone in this bustling city.
The amount of enticing restaurant options are virtually endless, so to help you narrow down your list, here are some suggestions to whet your appetite: Ahhh that’s Amoré
If fresh, handmade pasta made just like they do in Italy is your thing, look no further than Ask for Luigi. Their bolognese is one of the best in the city and we’ve been told “the panna cotta is to die for.” Just minutes away in the heart of the West End is Nook on Denman, another excellent spot pouring great wine and serving antipasto and pizza fit for a Nonna.
Show-Stopping Sushi Spots
Other than Japan, of course, Vancouver may just be the best place on earth for mouthwatering sushi spots. From $4 California rolls to sous-vide lobster stuffed specialty rolls, there’s no shortage of choices for casual eats or upscale extravaganzas around the city. A team favourite amongst our staff is Miku Restaurant, an exceptional waterfront dining experience specializing in torched aburi sushi. Their “plum wine selection is outstanding” and the waterfront views over Vancouver Harbour are just a stone’s throw away from the Convention Centre, host of the World Lottery Summit.
Other Must-Stop Foodie Spots:
- Le Crocodile - French fine dining with a twist of West Coast flair
- Red Accordion - Cozy farm-to-table restaurant with a classic cocktail selection, located in a heritage home in the beautiful West End of Vancouver.
- Rodney’s Oyster House - Freshly shucked oysters, steamy mussels and darn good clam chowder. It’s a seafood lover’s paradise.
Enjoy your time eating your way through this magnificent city! No matter what you’re craving, there are options for incredible eats on every corner.
